Nicholas Papaefthimiou
Nicholas is a licensed architect, developer and contractor with more than 25 years’ professional experience across the United States and Europe. His experience includes award-winning work with institutional, single- and multi-family residential, and commercial clients on projects from three hundred to over one million square feet.
Nicholas has spent more than a decade working in policy and construction around the challenges presented by developing affordable, infill single- and multi-family housing. He designed, engineered, built and retains a portfolio of single-family homes, duplexes and ADU’s targeted for individuals and families transitioning out of houselessness.
In 2018 he was selected by the Meyer Memorial Trust to participate in the Small Homes Northwest pilot project, which advanced a community-based ADU development process to highlight the synergies between government, community-based organization, and private-sector housing models.
In addition to his professional work, Nicholas has served on multiple design and awards juries, organized and presented at numerous symposia, and served on several graduate school admission boards. He currently serves on the steering committee for the Portland Conference of the Incremental Development Alliance.
Nicholas earned his Masters’ Degrees in both Architecture and Structural Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley and Bachelor of Science degrees in both Architecture and Urban Planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
